This bit has very little lateral movement due to the stable mouthpiece. The flat lozenge style link also decreases the nutcracker effect that is inherent to single jointed snaffles. This design also allows for some level of independent action for each side of the bit. Loose ring cheekpieces increase play in the bit and encourage self carriage.
